ZNA best shooters honoured

Mounted Brigade trooper, Privilege Kondongwe is the 2011 Commander Zimbabwe National Army Skill at Arms ‘champion at arms’.
Kondongwe beat hundreds of other competitors to lift the title after a week long shooting contest held at the Cleveland Riffle Range in
Harare.

Such was the honour accorded to mounted regiment trooper, Privilege Kondongwe after exercising great marksmanship. While
Kondongwe smiled as the best male shooter, Lance Corporal Memory Musabani of
Mechanised Brigade was also getting her piece of
cake emerging the best female shooter and Lieutenant Godfrey Gunda of Harare district scooping the top officer award.

Zimbabwe National Army Chief of Staff, General Staff, General Martin Chedondo underlined the role and need for a strong national security.
“We are what we are today because of your vigilance, so much as you are sprucing up your shooting skills and sporting you must always
remember that you play a pivotal role in the existence and stability this country is enjoying,” said General Chedondo.

Para regiment teams dominated in the women’s AK competitions, while Mechanised Brigade had the hold in the aggregate scores.
Harare District won top accolades in the male AK shoots and the women’s falling plates.

The ZNA Skill at arms shoot attracted participants from all the uniformed forces and civilians alike.
