C-47TP-AR Air Reconnaissance

3 of AFZ's DC-3 Dakotas were to C-47TP-AR long range Air Reconnaissance (AR) platforms similar to the South African plane shown
above. The upgrade involved replacement of the radial engines with more efficient turbo-prop engines, lengthening of the fuselage
due to the shift in the centre of gravity caused by the new engines and new avionics and work stations. The AR equipment included
digital photographic equipment that adds GPS coordinates and a date/time stamp to the subject photographed.
